We had a great day of worship this past Sunday, attendance was average. . . . . .we have been stuck at the same attendance for about 8 months and I'm not sure why. We can have 3 or 4 visitors and still stick to our average, but this last week NO visitors and still average attendance? Your guess is as good as mine.
We have two great outreach events coming up that I am excited about, on May 12th we are having "Hot Dogwood Days" We will be giving away hot dogs and chips from about 11 am (until they are gone) to those who are traveling to Galena for Dogwood Days. The small group has collected clothing that will be available for free to anyone who stops by and we will just be sharing with our community for a couple of hours.
The second event is June 15th - we are having a FREE chicken BBQ at the church from 5 until . . . . The menu includes Potato Salad, Baked Beans and Chicken, drinks and deserts. We will be showing our community that we are ALIVE at BWC and that we LOVE them.
I had the privledge to spend Tuesday with a very good friend of mine, Pastor Dan. We rode together to a great seminar in LaPlata MD. We were hosted by the great folks at New Life Wesleyan, their facilities are amazing and the Preaching Essentials Seminar was well worth the trip (2.5 hours south of home). My buddy Pastor Dan is going through a tough spot right now and your prayers for him and the church in Smyrna are greatly appreciated. Pastor Dan is the guy who helped me see my calling into ministry and has always been there to offer his unlimited wisdom to me about anything and everything.
